Services of Psychosocial Counselor
The psychosocial counselor at UCB provides students with vital assistance in diverse facets of their academic and personal lives, while also safeguarding their mental health. Through individual counseling sessions, the counselor addresses emotional challenges, such as stress, anxiety, and depression, providing a confidential space for students to explore and navigate their feelings. Furthermore, the counsellor provides weekly instruction on Psychosocial Well-Being to Monash College students and Study Skills to LSE students, both of which are vital in assisting students to cope with academic pressure and facilitate social integration. The curriculum of the courses emphasizes various facets of student mental health, such as the following: goal setting, stress management, time management, self-care, problem-solving and critical thinking, improving self-esteem, effective communication, diversity acceptance, comprehension of the prevalent mental health concerns. Furthermore, regular psychological workshop sessions are organized to educate students about anti-bullying measures, promote mental health destigmatization, and cultivate a secure and inclusive educational setting.
Student Support Services
The Student Services Executive ensures the harmonious integration of student activities with academic objectives in creating a positive and enriching educational environment at Universal College Bangladesh. The Executive oversees multifaceted aspects of student services, such as the establishment and management of student clubs, associations, societies, and alumni networks, aligning it seamlessly with the institution’s mission and overarching goals. Furthermore, the Executive oversees the planning and execution of Student Council and Student Cohort Representative elections, meeting facilitation, event logistics, student trips, alumni initiatives, as well as provides pastoral counseling—all of which demonstrate the Executive’s dedication to promoting a vibrant and enriching student experience. Altogether, the Executive is responsible for creating a dynamic campus community that advances students’ personal and professional development via opportunities for experiential learning. The Executive is also qualified to offer individual case management and pastoral care as needed, demonstrating a commitment to student well-being through confidential guidance and student-centered interventions.
