Entry requirements for MUFY

To apply for the Foundation Year, you will need to satisfy academic entry requirements, English language requirements, as well as age and citizenship requirements.

Age

Minimum age is 16 years. If you do not meet the age requirements, you may be offered a deferred place.

Provisional enrolment

If you have not received your final grades from your final qualifications, we may give you provisional offers for Foundation Year. However, you must meet the entry requirements before you start classes.

Conditional offers

If you meet the academic entry requirements for Foundation Year but do not meet the age or English language requirements, you may receive a conditional offer.

2. MONASH COLLEGE DIPLOMAS

Entry requirements for Monash Diploma

To apply for a Monash College diploma, you must meet the academic and English language requirements. You will also need to check the age, subject, and course prerequisites.

Two AS level subjects can be counted in place of one A level subject, provided that the subject has not been taken at A level, and there is at least one A level subject included in the calculation. AS Level results cannot be used to replace a poor performance in an A Level subject. N (Narrow failure) & U (Unclassified) not to be included in the calculation. A maximum of 1 bonus point is offered when achieving A in an A Level Subject. Subject examinations taken within two years may include more than one sitting. Prerequisite subjects

You must also meet the additional prerequisite subjects. These are equivalent to Australian Year 12.

Diploma of Applied Data Science	Higher Level Mathematics (Australian Year 12 Equivalent) and One of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Science, Geography or Psychology (Australian Year 12 Equivalent).
Diploma of Business	Mathematics (Australian Year 12 Equivalent) or Mathematics (Australian Year 11 Equivalent) and pick up an additional Mathematics unit MCD2140 Business Mathematics. If you enter the Diploma of Business (Part 2) with Mathematics equivalent to Australian Year 11, you must complete unit MCD2140 Business Mathematics.
Diploma of Engineering	Mathematics (Australian Year 12 Equivalent) and One of Physics* or Chemistry (Australian Year 12 Equivalent). *If you did not complete Physics (Australian Year 12 equivalent) you must have completed Physics Australian Year 11 equivalent and must enroll in-unit MCD1200 Physics A in place of MCD 4160 Physics for Engineering. Students in Biomedical Engineering must have completed Year 12 Physics.
Information Technology	1. Mathematics (Australian Year 11 or Australian Year 12 Maths Methods or Specialist Maths or equivalent) depending on the undergraduate destination degree. 2. Students must enroll in MCD4490 Advanced Mathematics, MCD4500 Engineering Mathematics, and MCD4440 Discrete Mathematics for Computer Science.

Age requirements for Monash Diploma

17 years. If you do not meet the age requirements, you may be offered a deferred place.
