Mr. Manas Singh

Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Manas Singh is the CEO of STS Group’s educational initiatives in Bangladesh, managing premium K12 schools like ISD, DPS STS, Glenrich as well as Universal College Bangladesh in the higher education category. Prior to joining STS Group at Bangladesh, he was leading India’s top educational enterprises namely Radcliffe, Ampersand and PeopleCombine Group as CEO/CMO.

Manas brings with him more than 20+ years of rich experience in leading businesses and developing customer relationships in the technology and education industry. He has also worked in one of world’s largest technology company, Dell Technologies, in various roles like GTM strategy, Sales, branding, pricing, and customer analytics supporting and growing multi-million-dollar business in the UK/Ireland SME market for Dell. In the field of education, he has diverse experience ranging from coaching industry, K12 Schools to Higher Education where he has developed educational products and strengthened stakeholder relationships.

An Air Force School pass out, Manas went on to do his Electronics & Communication Engineering from Bangalore. He also holds an MBA Degree in Marketing and IT from Xavier Institute of Management, India.

Manas strongly believes in power of building strong teams and using robust data analytics to guide these teams towards achieving common business goals. In his personal life, he is an avid reader with further interests in sports, politics, and social welfare. He is also a passionate animal lover and feels strongly about animal rights

Mr. Amit Prasad

Chief Operating Officer

In his about 20+ yrs of work experience, he has held various management positions in diverse industries like Education, IT, Insurance and Media. Prior to joining UCB, he was Director at K. K, Modi University, India, where he was one of founding team members of it. He was responsible of setting up the university from day 1. Before KKMU, he was Director at Stratford, which was the Indian campus of the Stratford University, USA. Before Stratford he worked as Director Enrolment for UPES(a laureate group university) and was responsible for the entire growth of UPES. Prior to joining UPES he was with BCCL, India, popularly known as Times Group. In his role as head of sales & distribution function in Andhra Pradesh for BCCL, he was instrumental in making The Times of India the no.1 newspaper in Hyderabad and also launched its Vizag and Vijayawada editions, where also those editions became the no.1 paper. His product portfolio included iconic brands like The Times of India, The Economic Times and some popular magazines like The Economist, Filmfare & Femina.

Before The Times Group, he was Vice President at ICICI Lombard, India, where he was instrumental in setting up the sales and distribution network for ICICI Lombard in North India. He also worked with Sony Entertainment Television as Group Head handling the territories of Delhi, Rajasthan & Haryana. In his career, he has been involved in clinching a number of big deals for his organizations.

He earned a BE in Electronics & Communication from Delhi University and PGDM from IIM, Calcutta.

Mr. Soureen Dutta Roy

Certified Career Coach and Neuro Linguistic programming (NLP) practitioner, passionate speaker who has conducted counselling sessions in more than 100 higher educational institutes in the country as a career coach and guide.

A multifaceted professional & well-travelled Mechanical Engineering graduate and Certificate (MDP) in General Management from IIM, Kolkata, India with more than two decade of experience which includes Corporate and Higher Education. He has Experience in consulting, P&L Accountability, Relationship Management & Team Management in enterprise software solutions and higher education. He was Ex- Associate Vice President – Education Counselling and Communication (EC&C) at Adamas University, Kolkata, India. handled all aspects of outreach and admissions for the university . In the past, he has earlier experience of being associated with MNC’s organisations like Autodesk, Sonata Software, Keane Inc, Innoval Design Solutions to name a few.

KAZI KHAIRUN AHMED ALFEE IS a forward-thinking visionary hailing from Dhaka, Bangladesh, with a passionate commitment to humanity and a unique blend of professional experiences, she is a true seeker of enlightenment and a staunch advocate for knowledge. As a law-abiding citizen, her journey serves as an inspiring example of a professional who has consistently delivered results while remaining deeply committed to social causes and the betterment of humanity.

She is a proud Monash University Alumnus and is also leading the Monash College Pathway Programs as Head of Programs at Universal College Bangladesh. Her role allows me to make significant contributions to Monash University’s Strategy Plan – 2030 while actively recruiting and guiding students and directs Dalhousie University, Canada’s pathway programs. Her professional journey has been guided by my academic achievements, including a Master’s degree in Diplomacy and Trade from Monash University and a Bachelor’s degree in International Business from Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, Global Classroom Masters Class Program with multiple Forbes 500 companies in Product Development in UK, and many other professional degrees such including Project Management development through the Inter-American Development Bank’s Development Professionals Licentiate program. In addition to educational pursuits, she extensive experience gained through involvement in various high-impact projects such includes her roles as Board Secretary at University of Asia Pacific advocating for amendments revised and implemented in the national higher education policies and practices, her role a corporate liaison public figure in Associations such as Bangladesh Rotary Club and Junior Chamber International; also as the CEO of Business America Magazine Inc. and Arthakantha Press and Publications Ltd., she has proven to have been at the forefront of driving change and facilitating impactful dialogue; her involvement as Head of Public Relations at Globe Janankantha Shilpa Paribar and as a Business Development Consultant for WE Foundation highlights her commitment to pro-bono initiatives and social causes.

Mr. Najmul Islam

Have the tremendous capabilities in Accounts & Finance Management, & experienced in managing business in a sustainable way.
Having sound knowledge in IFRS, Tax & VAT Rules & operating Accounting software achieving final target and also Demonstrated Confirmed expertise in surpassing goals, attaining corporate objectives, preparing Financial Policies & SOPs, Project Proposals, Financials Reports & exceeding customer expectations.
Mr. Najmul is now pursuing Advance Level of Chartered Accountancy (CA) under The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB). He had completed his CA articleship from KPMG Bangladesh. He has completed his BBA (Finance) and MBA (Finance) from the University of Dhaka. He scored Board Stands for his outstanding results at the SSC & HSC examination.

Ms. Shirin Sultana Prithin is working as a Manager- Human Resources at UCB with a trained and professional background in Human Resources and about 12+ years of working experience committed to implementing fair and effective HR policies and procedures that align with UCB’s values and goals. Prior to joining UCB, she was Manager- HR & Operations at ILCB Group which is the famous Immigration Law Consultancy Bureau in Bangladesh and Canada. She was responsible for managing recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training and development, and compensation and benefits.
Before ILCB, she was Manager- HR & Admin at RSF Group which covers RSF Cargo Service Ltd. and RSF Agro Industries Ltd. She was responsible for the entire HR and Administrative work in both sectors (Cargo and Agro). Before RSF Group, she was Manager- HR, Admin & Trainer at NuVerus Bangladesh. She also worked at Globex Marketing Company Ltd as a Coordination Officer (HR & Admin).
She has earned a Professional MBA and PGD degree in HRM from the renowned institution of Bangladesh named BIHRM and completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s in English from Eden under Dhaka University

Aura Rahman is a lecturer at Universal College Bangladesh. She is also acting as a coordinator for the Monash University Foundation Year program. Aura attained her bachelor’s (BSc in Biomedical Sciences) from University College London, United Kingdom. She then completed her master’s (Msc in Biotechnology) from North South University. Her research interest lies in the field of genomic epidemiology of infectious diseases. Her contribution in several local and international research projects have led to publications in several highly ranked peer-reviewed journals including BMC Genomics, Nature Scientific Reports, Science and FEMS Microbiology Letters.

Mr. Kamal Hossain is working as a Lecturer at Universal College Bangladesh. He completed B.Sc. in Mathematics and M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics from the University of Dhaka. He is an M Phil researcher at BUET. His research interests are mathematical modeling in biology, machine learning programming, etc. Some of his research papers are in the pipeline for publication in international journals. He is a lifetime member of the Dhaka University Mathematics Alumni Association.

Ambreen Zaman is a senior lecturer with eight years of experience in various local universities in Bangladesh. She is currently pursuing a PhD degree at the University of Bremen, Germany. She obtained a master’s degree in information technology from the Institute of Information Technology at the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Her research papers have been published in national and international journals and conferences. The area of research she is most interested in is human-computer interaction.

Nahida Parvin is a lecturer at Universal College Bangladesh. Before joining UCB, she worked as a lecturer of accounting and marketing at Ahsanullah University of Science & Technology (AUST). Nahida has received her MBA & BBA degrees, majoring in Accounting & Information Systems, from the University of Dhaka. She has been the recipient of “Dean’s Honor Award 2018”, awarded by the University of Dhaka. Currently, Nahida is on study leave. She is pursuing her second master’s degree in “Quantitative Finance & Data Science” at Oklahoma State University, USA. Her research interest lies in the field of ESG accounting, ESG finance, circular economy, and data analytics in the field of accounting and finance. Apart from being a lecturer, Nahida also served as a program coordinator for Monash University Foundation Year program at UCB from August 2021 to May 2023.

Ms Habiba Kibria is a working as a Senior Lecturer at Universal College Bangladesh. She completed her Masters in Marketing from Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia and holds a double degree in Bachelor of Marketing and Human Resource Management from North South University, Dhaka, Bangladesh. She has been in academia throughout her career- from being a Lecturer to a Student Councilor to a Country Manager for a foreign university. Her area of interest lies in customer service management, consumer behavior and digital marketing. She holds the Duke of Edinburgh award at Broze level and has been awarded as one of the best project coordinators during her high school community service days. She was an active volunteer at Jaago Foundation and participated in multiple fundraising events. She was also the official Master of Ceremony for her university both in Bangladesh and in Australia.

Ms Farin Daula is working as a senior lecturer at UCB. She is a trained education professional from the UK and has a degree in Education and English from University of Surrey, UK. She also holds a Master’s in management from Westminster University, UK. Ms Farin received her teacher training at the department of Continuing Education, University of Oxford, UK. Ms Farin is the founder of the education platform, One Circle. She is a certified mental health first aider and a life coach. She has extensive experience in the life-skills education sector, working in various schools and non-profit organizations in London and Dhaka. She is the author of the Tara and Joy children’s book series. The first book of this series called “Tara and Joy: Body Safety” is available now both in Bengali and English version.

Dr. Sadia Afreen is an assistant professor at the Universal College Bangladesh (UCB). She completed BSc in Chemical Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET). She obtained her PhD from the University of Nottingham and then completed her postdoctoral research at Nanjing University in the field of chemical engineering. Her research expertise is in applied chemistry and nanotechnology. She has significant publications in her areas of research, and she contributed as a journal reviewer to prestigious journals in her fields of expertise. She earned the Postgraduate Student Teachers Certificate during her postgraduate study at the University of Nottingham. She worked in the hall committee, conference committee at the University of Nottingham; teaching and learning subcommittee, and program coordinator in the Monash College Diploma program at UCB. She worked in industry and had several engineering and research training at home and abroad.

Muhammad Ismail Hossain is a Professor and Dean of Academic Affairs, Monash & LSE Program at Universal College Bangladesh. He is on leave from his earlier appointment as Professor of Marketing at the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Prof. Hossain received his Ph.D. in consumer behavior from Monash University, Australia. He is an MBA from the University of Dhaka and also has a Master’s degree in International Business from the University of Melbourne, Australia. His research interests lie in the fields of tourism, consumer behavior, and supply chain management. He is one of the co-authors of the book Social Media Storms: Empowering Leadership beyond Crisis Management published by Routledge. He has more than 50 publications including books, research monographs, journal articles, newspaper articles, and keynote papers. His work has been published in many international high-impact journals such as the Journal of Supply Chain Management, Journal of Travel Research, Tourism Recreation Research, Current Issues in Tourism, International Journal of Tourism Research, and Journal of City, Culture, and Society among others. He is an editorial board member of the Journal of Travel Research, the leading tourism journal in the world. He has received a notable amount of external research funding locally as well as internationally as part of various international and local research groups. The value of such local and international funding is BDT 1.06 crores and USD 827,873 respectively. As a consultant, he worked for government projects, not-for-profits, and for-profit local and international organizations.
